The Historic Facts of the Crucifixion

Many people have their own ideas on this but I have to speak on what was shown to me. What I believe not only makes sense to me, but I have to add when I stopped to think about it I found how much it hurt me to know just how much Jesus had suffered for me and others.

What I was shown was rather than a Cross, was what was an execution stake. This was made up of one upright piece of wood and two cross pieces of wood making what appeared to be something like a Maltese cross. The higher piece of wood was wide enough to enable a person's hands to be nailed so as to make it possible for the person's two arms to be extended to their fullest width. The second piece of wood was placed lower down so the person would sit on this piece, and so doing made it impossible for the persons body to slide down. The feet were then nailed lower down the upright .

In this way the person was held back and not up, by the nails in the hands. The body was held up by the second piece of wood which was placed lower down, and in this way the only way the person could breath was by pushing up on their nailed feet, which added to the pain. By this method it was possible to make the person die sooner by breaking their legs which stopped them from pushing up and in so doing being able to breathe.

I wonder over time has this and other things been forgotten just as in fact real love has stopped being the foundation for our actions .

Also involved in this is the question why did Jesus die ,well from what I can make out people being people were messing things up then just as they are doing today by thinking they are in charge ,and many believe they can tell God how they want things to be done . From what is said in the Bible when Jesus died He took all our sins upon Him Self to make it possible for  us  to get to Heaven  , and what I have to do is recognise myself for the sinner that I am ,and realise how wrong I have been and call on His Name .
